A strange story will come in Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night


On the official site for the studios’ next original anime Doga Kobotitled as “Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night (Yoru no Kurage wa Oyogenai)”, the main promotional video of the project was revealed. The video confirms more cast and crew members, and lists that The premiere is scheduled for April 6 in Japan.

New voice cast members include:

  • Sumire Uesaka like Miiko.
  • Miho Okasaki like Mero Setou.
  • Yukina Shutou like Momoko Yanagi.
  • Sally Amaki as Akari Suzumura.

Production team

  • JELEE the original story is credited, while Ryouhei Takeshita (Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii, Eromanga Sensei) is in charge of directing the anime at the studios Doga Kobo.
  • Yuki Yaku (Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-kun) is in charge of writing and supervising the scripts.
  • popman3580 original designs are credited, while Junichirou Taniguchi (Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, Prison School, GOSICK, Yesterday wo Utatte) is in charge of character design and animation direction, with the assistance of Chiaki Nakajima and Shuri.
  • KanoeFrog will perform the opening theme titled “Irodori” (Coloring)while Anna Tsurushima will perform the closing theme titled “Ichi-nichi wa 25-jikan” (A Day Is 25 Hours).

Synopsis of Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night

“I want to discover what I like.” Shibuya, a city full of identities. A girl who wanders around the Shibuya District at night and can’t become anything, begins to change after a special encounter with someone else. A coming-of-age story by Ryouhei Takeshita, director of “Eromanga Sensei,” and Yuki Yaku, author of “Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-kun,” presented by Doga Kobo, which celebrates her fiftieth anniversary. The girls’ creative and anonymous activities finally begin.
