After the broadcast of today’s episode, a new promotional video was revealed for the anime adaptation of the manga written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe, Sousou no Frieren (Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End). The press release again confirmed that the series will go on a short break and will resume with the second part on January 5, 2024 in Japan.
This second part will explore the “First Class Magic Exam Arc” and will also change the opening theme to one performed by the band Yoroshiku and titled “Hareru (晴る)“. This second part will have a total of twelve episodes, thus completing the twenty-eight originally announced.

Besides, Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe They began publishing the manga in the magazine Weekly Shonen Sunday from the publisher Shogakukan in April 2020. Unfortunately, the work has gone through a series of suspensions that slow its progress.

Synopsis of Sousou no Frieren
The Demon King has been defeated, and the victorious group of heroes has returned to their respective homes after disbanding. The four—the mage Frieren, the hero Himmel, the priest Heiter, and the warrior Eisen—remember their decade-long journey when it comes time to say goodbye. But the passage of time is different for elves, so Frieren witnesses how her beloved companions slowly die.
Before his death, Heiter manages to impose on Frieren a young human apprentice named Fern. Driven by the elf’s passion for collecting a wealth of magical spells, the pair embark on a seemingly aimless journey, revisiting places the heroes of old had visited. Throughout his travels, Frieren slowly comes to grips with his regret for the missed opportunities to form deeper bonds with his now-deceased comrades.
