Sakamoto Days already gets into controversies

It seems that Masaki Watanabedirector of the anime adaptation of “Sakamoto Days“He got into serious problems with fans. It all started when He decided to retweet an original manga art, but here comes the problem: the drawing showed a fight that has not yet come out in the anime. To top it off, art was colored and with a style that remembered Mappa projects, which made more than one think he was boasting.

Obviously the networks soon exploded, with comments such as: «It is sad that the director of the anime shares images with spoilers of parts that have not yet been encouraged». This made it clear that the fans did not make a hint of grace. Many were upset because the spoiler ruins the experience for those who only follow the anime, and consider that Watanabe must have thought better before publishing something like that.

And if fans' anger was not enough, Tetsu Ookawa, manga assistant and author of the spin-off “Sakamoto Holidays”, also went out to criticize the situation on Twitter. In a fairly direct message, he wrote:

  • «Exactly! There are fans who only see the anime, and this shows a total lack of consideration. I would like you to take your position into account. This is not about 'look great'. This medium only exists because there are people who look at it, and without that consideration it does not work. I wonder how you can do this being a creator».

The author was even further, saying that the team behind the anime is “outdated” and that they have no idea how to connect with the current public:

  • «I have investigated the main staff of Sakamoto Days And it seems that everyone is like living fossils, unable to update their sensitivity. They are probably the type of people who are only tuned to what they like, and nothing else. I already went from anger and sadness to astonishment».

Given the criticism, the director immediately deleted his publication, but it was too late. Fans and even the manga team are disappointed, and many now doubt whether the director really understands what it is to “respect the audience.” Meanwhile, anime adaptation remains high in popular indices thanks to a great TMS Entertainment animation production. However, it is not known what consequences this stumbling block could bring for the fans community.
