During the event AnimeJapan 2024 A new promotional visual was revealed for the new anime adaptation of the light novels of Isuna Hasekura“Spice and Wolf (Ookami to Koushinryou)”. The press release listed that the premiere is scheduled for April 1 in Japan, and it was announced that will have a duration of two consecutive courses (six months of broadcast).
Considering that the series, officially titled “Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf” will premiere in the first week of the season Spring-2024 (April-June)it is valid to infer that it will have, at least, a total of twenty-four episodes.
Isuna Hasekura and Juu Ayakura They began publishing the light novels in February 2006 through the publishing label Dengeki Bunko of Kadokawa. The work inspired a manga adaptation by Keito Koume that was published between September 2007 and December 2017.
The franchise also inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by the studios Imagineunder the direction of Takeo Takahashi and scripts written by Naruhisa Arakawapremiered in January 2008. A second season of twelve episodes was produced by the studios Brain’s Base and Marvy Jack, and released in July 2009.

Spice and Wolf Synopsis
Holo is a powerful wolf deity who is celebrated and revered in the small town of Pasloe for blessing the annual harvest. However, as the years pass and the villagers become more self-sufficient, Holo, who styles herself as the “Wise Wolf of Yoitsu,” has been reduced to a mere folktale. When a traveling merchant named Kraft Lawrence stops in Pasloe, Holo offers to become her business partner if he finally takes her to his northern home of Yoitsu.
The clever merchant recognizes Holo’s unusual ability to assess a person’s character and accepts her proposal. Now that he possesses both great business skills and a charismatic negotiator, Lawrence moves closer to his goal of opening his own store. However, as Lawrence travels the countryside with Holo in search of economic opportunities, he begins to realize that his aspirations are slowly transforming into something unexpected.
