The famous manga author Hiroya Okuknown primarily as the creator of “Gantz“, has raised controversy on Twitter by claim that he was possibly the first to draw big breasts in the manga world, a feature that now seems to be the norm in the industry. In her Twitter post, Oku shared her reflections on this evolution in the drawing of female characters in manga.
“You may not believe it, but when I made my debut in manga magazines, no one drew big breasts, not even in magazines aimed at teenagers. There weren’t even that many ecchi mangas back then. That’s why my predecessors used to call me a pervert just for drawing big tits. I never imagined we would reach a time where large busts would be the norm, even in shonen magazines“Wrote Hiroya Oku in his publication.
He went on to express his surprise at remembering the manga “KochiKame” and how even in that manga the generous breasts were not highlighted when he started reading it. However, he observed that as the series progressed, he noticed a change in that aspect. “I read it and wondered why they didn’t draw big busts, but I think in the end they were quite big. I was reading it, so yeah“he commented.
