If you have walked in the last few days in anime groups on social networks, surely you have noticed two quite relevant things. The first is that fans of one piecespecifically of the anime adaptation, they are more anxious than ever because within two episodes one of the most anticipated moments by all readers of the original manga will be adapted: Luffy will finally awaken the Gomu Gomu no Mi and unlock Gear 5.
And no, we are not giving you spoilers, that is practically what the promotional video says where, kindly, Toei Animation was in charge of ruining the whole surprise for you:
But this article is not to talk about the most anticipated moment for One Piece fans, but rather the fact that everyone they made a statement that became controversial among the anime fan community in general: “One Piece will break the internet“. And of course, there was a community that could not remain silent before this important statement: dragon ball fans.
The eternal rivalry between both communities of fans, who consider their franchise more important than the other, was reflected in this new conflict that arose in the corners of the groups on social networks. While One Piece fans affirm that the episode in question will mark a before and after in the shonen industry, Dragon Ball fans affirm that what their franchise did in March 2018 can never be imitated.
But what did Dragon Ball do to be considered “unbeatable”? Well, it could be said that he did the impossible: he got the otakus from all over the world out of their homes. Large groups and even local governments in some Latin American countries organized massive screenings of the final episode of Dragon Ball Superso thousands gathered in squares or other public places to witness the culmination of the Tournament of Power surrounded by other fans like them.
And of course we can’t ignore the comments:
