A press release revealed that the light novels written by nafusse and illustrated by gin, Rebuild Worldwill be adapted into a television anime series. The statement did not reveal the animation studio or a release date for the production. Nevertheless, more information about the adaptation will be revealed at the Dengeki Bunko 30th: Summer Festival Online 2023 event.which will take place on July 15 and 16 in Japan.
Nafuse began publishing the novel on the website Shoutsuka ni Narou in 2017 and the most recent chapter on the site was in 2021. kadokawa began publishing the series in print in 2019. A manga adaptation with illustrations by Kirihito Ayamura began to be published in the magazine dengeki maoh in July 2019.
Rebuild World Synopsis
The pinnacle of human civilization has come and gone, leaving only ruins in its wake. Society and science are now struggling to rebuild, rediscovering scraps of knowledge from powerful ancient artifacts that defy comprehension. These “Old World” relics can make the fortunes of those who find them, if ancient security systems and biological weapons don’t kill relic hunters first.
Akira, a young orphan from the streets, sets out to become one of those hunters to escape his brutal life in the slums. Untrained, malnourished, and poorly armed, Akira would be lucky if he made it back from the ruins alive, until an encounter with Alpha, a mysterious ghostly woman, changes his fate forever. Alpha needs a hunter, and she’s willing to train Akira to get it.
