A healing hero arrives with The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic


On the official site for the anime adaptation of the light novels written by kurokata and illustrated by KeG, The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic (Chiyu Mahou no Machigatta Tsukaikata), the first promotional video for the project was revealed. The video confirms the production team and announces that the premiere is scheduled for the year 2024 in Japan.

The novels began to be published in 2014 in web format on the site Shoutsuka ni Narou. From 2016 to 2020 the physical formats of the novels were published by the label Media Factory from the publisher kadokawa, with a total of twelve volumes. The novels have been adapted to the manga since 2017, which is published in the magazine Comp Ace.

Production team

  • Takahide Ogata (Honzuki no Gekokujou, Koukyoushihen Eureka Seven) is in charge of directing the anime at the studios Shin-Ei Animation and Studio Add.
  • shougo yasukawa (Shokugeki no Souma, Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka?, Strike the Blood) is in charge of writing and supervising the scripts.
  • Kenji Tanabe (Blue Lock, Fugou Keiji: Balance:UNLIMITED, Hachi-nan tte, Sore wa Nai deshou!) is in charge of character design and animation direction.

Synopsis for The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic

Ken Usato is a normal high school student in every sense of the word: average grades, dreams, and a tendency to dislike extraordinary people. However, when he meets the student council president and vice president, both popular and extraordinary, he quickly becomes friends with them. All this is interrupted when Ken’s new friends are summoned to another world…and he is accidentally summoned too!

Despondent and with no way to return, he resigns himself to staying quietly in the new world… until he discovers that he has an affinity for healing magic, a very rare form of magic that gives him self-confidence and the attention of all wizards. However, not all attention is good, something Ken realizes when he is spotted by a fellow wacky healing magic user…
