ONE PIECE fans explode against VTubers

On the official site for the anime adaptation of “one piece” it was announced that six VTubers from the Hololive Production agency will perform the opening themes of the series alongside the performers of the franchise's first songs, Hiroshi Kitadani and Maki Otsuki. Together they will perform the iconic opening theme “We Go!” as part of the remastering of the Fishman Island Arc, which airs while the main anime remains suspended.

For this, they have been divided into two groups that are organized as follows:

  • The opening of February-2025 will be performed by the VTubers “Shirakami Fubuki”, “Houshou Marine”, and “Tsunomaki Watame”, together with Maki Otsukiwho has performed numerous musical themes for the franchise, including the first ending “Memories.”

However, despite the good news for fans of the franchise, Obviously not everyone is happy that some VTubers are going to sing the iconic songs of the saga:

  • «They chose the most infamous. Even within VTubers there are categories».
  • «One of them is a pirate, I guess that's no problem».
  • «Why are Dragon Ball song performers never recognized worldwide? One Piece, Mashle and Oshi no Ko do have singers who receive recognition».
  • «What time are we living in…?».
  • «And this is how the spectators move away».
  • «If it's with the captain and Fubu-san, there's no problem. Vocal quality is guaranteed».
  • «If it was for something like a Bounty commercial, it would be fine, but for an opening, it wouldn't.».
  • «Basically, they have already been taken out of prime time. Now they only have to hold on to the otakus».
  • «Poor Hiroshi Kitadani! First Hikakin and Seikin sing their songs, and now the Vtubers».
  • «Both One Piece and Gundam already accepted Hololive, haha. Those who were anti-Hololive better not get any closer, haha».
  • «If you stay anti-Hololive, it seems like you won't be able to do anything else, haha. Are antis monks in training or what? Ha ha».
  • «I have nothing against VTubers, but watching weak men cry over this is funny, keep crying!».
  • «I thought that those who still watch One Piece would be fans of the Vtubers, but it seems that is not the case».
  • «Because of this direction they are taking, they will surely begin to turn ex-celebrities into Vtubers».
  • «As expected, there are super angry people, and it makes me laugh, haha».
  • «This trend can't be stopped anymore, give up».
  • «Lately I only watch Hololive stuff. A while ago it was all about Nijisanji, but has it become irrelevant now?».
  • «Nijisanji is still popular, but Hololive exploits his talents so much that they even faint».
  • «One Piece has that image that even the 'outlaws' can see it, so that probably bothers those who think they are tough».

For its part, Eiichiro Oda The publication of the manga began through the magazine Weekly Shonen Jump from the publisher Shueisha in July 1997, where it is still in serialization.
