Fans mourn the ‘imminent death’ of nHentai

As we have already commented in previous articles, nHentai is a popular hentai doujinshi site translated into different languages (although never into Spanish). The site was launched in June 2014 and became extremely popular due to the way it indexes mangas. nHentai assigns a six-digit numerical code to each of the manga, allowing fans to more easily find and distribute any doujinshi they are interested in.

nHentai

Unfortunately, the site has had problems since its launch, due to it including hentai doujinshi that was also on FAKKU! (although on this other site you have to pay a subscription to access the content). Additionally, nHentai also offers the doujinshi in their original language, so users can have access to the new works even before someone else translates them. All of this led to the site becoming the most popular hentai doujinshi page on the entire Internet.

Unfortunately, FAKKU! began licensing the hentai doujinshi available on its platform in 2015, and began taking action against pages that had “its content.” Although it took legal action against pages such as Hentai Cafe and Hentai Nexus, to date it has not acted against nHentai, although the pressure is evident.

And this pressure eventually paid off for FAKKU!, as nHentai has just done a massive removal of content licensed by this distributor. Even ShindoL’s popular doujinshi “Metamorphosis” disappeared from the catalog. That’s right, the doujinshi identified with the code “177013”, an extremely popular number on the Internet, no longer exists.

nHentai’s most recent purge included the following artists (all of their works were removed from the catalog): Achumuchi; Aiue Oka; Akatsuki Myuuto; Akikusa Peperon; Taichi Kneader; Anza Yuu; Arai Kei; Ashizuki; Ayakase Chiyoko; Ayakawa Riku; Ayuma Sayu; Bang-You; Bifidus; BoBoBo; Bosshi; Butcha-u; Danimaru; Deep Valley; dotsuco; Doumou; Fuguta-ke; Fujimaru; Fujiyama; Fujoujoshi; Fukuyama Naoto; Gosaiji; Hirayan; Hisasi; HOMUNCULUS; Ichinomiya Yuu; Ikezaki Misa; Inato Serere; Ishikei; jingrock; Kemigawa Mondo; Kichirock; Manno; Ohkami Ryosuke; Osomatsu; Pochi; Puyocha; ShindoL; Takeda Hiromitsu; Tenzen Miyabi; Usagi Nagomu; among many others.

It is certainly a pity, and some believe this could mean the site’s eventual demise from the Internet scene.. And of course, Internet users were quick to react to this:

  • «On the plus side, at least the purge (mostly, I haven’t checked others) are mostly FAKKU! artists, so it’s not that hard to find that title if you forget about them and find other “media” to archive them. The site should have told us if they had been pressured by FAKKU! before the purge; I thought it was regular maintenance, not some damn snap from Thanos».
  • «Since the day I started using Pupil, an app created specifically for Hitomi, I have never looked back at nHentai».
  • «Well, at least you can still see the code of your favorites if you press CTRL + SHIFT + C and hover over the “REMOVE” button».
  • «Hitomi always was and will always be better. Although the way they arrange the doujinshi is shit».
  • «The site is dead, it has no good content left».
  • «Well, now what? I used nHentai because of the little ad content it had, the others are almost unnavigable on the phone».
  • «What the fuck? The damn ones from FAKKU! They have fed up with their nonsense, who would think of licensing hentai in the West? Only to have it canceled by the masses? It’s a shame, from now on I recommend that you save your favorite doujinshi in the Downloads folder».
  • «I’m lucky that I have my private collection on my hard drive.».
  • «Well, nHentai clone sites are still available, like the .to».
  • «So this is the work of FAKKU!, I had heard of them before and it seems disgusting to me that they want to monopolize the hentai press».
  • «The purge is real. I was hoping to save some of my favorites to my hard drive, but they’re no longer there.».
  • «I want to say one thing about 177013. I actually read it out of curiosity, but the ending of the manga was too sad for me. I actually cried a little when I got to the last page of the manga. I cried because she really put everything into changing her life, but she didn’t reach her main goal.».
