The death of Satoru Gojo in the manga Jujutsu Kaisen It is definitely a global phenomenon, so much so that it also became “a spoiler that is impossible to avoid.” One would practically have to give up all social networks and stay confined to their room to avoid finding out this information, and even the popular Duolingo platform joined the trend recently.
Duolingo is an online educational platform used to learn different languages interactively and for free. The platform offers language courses in a wide variety of languages, allowing users to learn to speak, read and write in a new language in an accessible and fun way.
Within the platform there are two animated characters that are used to guide and motivate users as they progress through their language lessons. These pets are:
- Duo: Duo is the main mascot of Duolingo. He is a green and white owl with big eyes and a graduation cap on his head. Duo appears in most lessons and activities, encouraging users to stay engaged in their learning. If a user does not practice regularly, Duo may appear sad or worried to motivate the user to return and continue learning.
- Lily: Lily is one of the main Duolingo characters who appears in most stories, lessons, and other events. She is an introverted, unenthusiastic emo teenager with a deadpan humor, who secretly cares a lot about others.
Well, it turns out that the official Duolingo Twitter account responded to “@JJK_Mya” an account dedicated to publishing Jujutsu Kaisen content and leaks. While this account asked what readers expected about the next chapters, Duolingo shared a photo of Duo with the appearance of Sukuna and Lily split in half, a clear reference to how the meeting between Sukuna and Gojo ended in the manga.:
And of course, the funny image was not going to go unnoticed by fans:
- «Thanks to Duolingo, I don’t spoil myself because I can read the leaked chapters without a problem».
- «How powerful is that owl?».
- «Guess those Japanese lessons will have to wait after this joke».
- «Whoever is in charge of this Twitter account definitely needs a raise, but they also need to be fired for spoiling such a popular manga.».
- «This guy is a marketing genius.».
- «This is all marketing genius.».
- «Duolingo’s social media manager really needs a raise».
- «I’ve been avoiding spoilers for several days, and now it turns out that a Duolingo account ruined the manga for me».
