In December 2023, the development team of “Street Fighter 6″the most recent installment of the popular fighting video game franchise, surprised with a promotional video announcing a collaboration with the anime franchise of “SPY x FAMILY“. The announcement was accompanied by an animated video starring Yor Forger and Chun-Li, and produced by WIT STUDIOwhich definitely excited fans of both franchises.
Although many were excited about the idea of participating as Yor Forger in the video game, others preferred to keep calm and wait to see the official design of the character already in the delivery. And it turns out that the latter were the smartest, since this collaboration has finally started and Yor Forger couldn’t look worse than ever.
The most recent promotional video showed that Yor Forger only arrives as a skin within “Street Fighter 6,” used by player-created characters. The video also shows the “Loid Forger” skin near the end, and the effort put into these characters has been so poor that fans were quick to turn it into mockery.
Although it was clear that Yor Forger wouldn’t look exactly like fans have seen her in every episode of “SPY x FAMILY” in “Street Fighter 6,” It certainly wasn’t expected that it would look as bad as the promotional video showed.. It is precisely for this reason that the network has been filled with ridicule and criticism towards the development team:
- «Skins for your avatar? Is seriously? Who thought it was a good idea? Meanwhile, Granblue Fantasy adds 2B herself to its cast of characters».
- «The outfit should have been, at least, a skin for Chun-li herself, not this stupidity».
- «Sorry, but I’m probably not the only one who feels disappointed with this shit after the tremendous trailer they showed last month».
- «This collaboration is shit. They need to work on their content and monetization, they are the worst I have seen».
- «They should have put Yor Forger herself as a character. Nobody wants your character creation bullshit, we want new characters in the game. What a monumental mess!».
- «I don’t understand why CAPCOM got everyone excited about the SPY x FAMILY collaboration. It was evident that they were not going to add the character to the cast nor were they going to put him as a skin for Chun-li».
- «One of the biggest screw-ups in the video game industry. It’s incredible the mentality that the Japanese have to screw up all the time».
- «Damn, you can see how little vision the Japanese have when it comes to business. Do you really think this would sell better than the character himself in the video game?».
- «Why bother if you have no intention of improving? I don’t understand how they could waste an opportunity like this and not take the time to make it better, no one cares about character creation shit».
- «The fact that they want to continue promoting shit about avatars and not official video game characters seems crazy to me. It’s incredible that Street Fighter 6 is one of the most relevant games of its time, and the updates are shit after shit».
- «Seriously, but better to put guest characters or at least if they are only going to give this type of content in the collaborations, let it be for the official characters».
