WIT Studio will continue with the Honzuki no Gekokujou anime


The publisher TO Books announced that the anime adaptation of the light novels written by Miya Kazuki and illustrated by Yuu Shiina, Honzuki no Gekokujou: Shisho ni Naru Tame ni wa Shudan wo Erandeiraremasen (Ascendance of a Bookworm), will now continue with WIT Studio. According to the statement, the adaptation of the “Part 3: Adopted Daughter of an Archduke” (the previous three seasons adapted the first two parts).

For its part, Miya Kazuki published the original novels through the independent service Shousetsuka ni Narou between September 2013 and March 2017. It was later published on paper with illustrations by Yuu Shiina through the publisher TO Books in January 2015. In addition to three manga adaptations, the work inspired three seasons of an anime adaptation produced by the studios Ajia-Doand which together totaled thirty-six episodes.

Synopsis of Honzuki no Gekokujou

Motosu Urano, a book-loving college student who recently earned her librarian certification and was supposed to start her dream job after graduation, dies during an earthquake after being crushed beneath her enormous collection of books. Wishing to reincarnate with the sole desire to continue reading, she reincarnates in a world with a low level of literacy and very few books, limited only to the nobility of the world. As she adjusts to her new life as the five-year-old daughter of a lowly soldier, now named Mayne, no matter how much she wants to read, there is no way to access books. If there are no books, what do you do? Of course, you make them yourself… her goal now will be to become a librarian no matter what, and live a life surrounded by books, but this time, making them herself.
