During a panel scheduled at New York Comic Con, the production of a new original anime for the franchise was announced. dragon ballwhich will be titled as Dragon Ball Daima. According to the promotional video shown (which has not yet been officially published by the production), the premiere is scheduled for the season of Fall-2024 (October-December).
The announcement also included a message from the author Akira Toriyamacreator of the world-famous franchise, where part of the synopsis of this new project is explained:
- Hello, I’m Akira Toriyama. I’m currently working on a new Dragon Ball. The title is “Dragon Ball DAIMA”. “DAIMA” is a compound term, which in Japanese would mean “evil.” Due to a conspiracy, Son Goku and his friends are turned into children. To set things right, they head to a new world! It is a great adventure with intense action in an unknown and mysterious world.
- Because Son Goku has to cope with his small size, he once again uses the “Magic Staff” to fight, something that has not been seen in a long time. I came up with the story and the settings, as well as a lot of the designs. I’m currently working hard, harder than usual! Things will develop that will solve the mysteries of the Dragon Ball world. I hope you enjoy these battles that are different from usual, adorable and powerful!
The phenomenon of dragon ball began in 1984 when the well-known Japanese manga by Akira Toriyama premiered in the magazine Weekly Shonen Jump of Shueisha, becoming a top-level title throughout its ten and a half years of publication. Dragon Ball Synopsis
Son Goku is a young man who lives alone in the forest, until a girl named Bulma runs into him in her search for a set of magical objects called “Dragon Balls.” As the artifacts are said to grant a wish to whoever she gathers all seven, Bulma hopes to gather them and wish for a perfect boyfriend. Goku possesses a dragon ball, but, unfortunately for Bulma, he refuses to part with it, so she offers him a deal: he can accompany her on her journey if he lends her the power of the ball. Thus, both embark on the journey of their lives.
But they don’t do it alone. Along the way, they meet old Muten-Roshi and would-be disciple Krillin, with whom Goku trains to become a stronger martial artist for the upcoming World Martial Arts Tournament. However, it’s not all fun and games; The ability to make any wish come true is very powerful, and there are others who would do much worse than wish for a boyfriend. To stop those who would try to abuse the legendary power, they train to become stronger fighters, using their newfound strength to help the people around them along the way.
