A few months ago we talked about a meme that became a trend on social networks, and which stated that the pornographic parody of the “Chainsaw Man” had been a complete success in Japan, even surpassing the anime adaptation in physical album sales. This is a completely false fact, made simply as part of the franchise’s “smear” campaign. (i.e. those who rated the anime as “overrated”).
However, it is interesting that now the meme has barely been discovered by the Japanese, who translated the image and shared it on comment forums.
This attracted a variety of comments from the community, and it is worth remembering that in Japan the presence of “Chainsaw Man detractors” is much more marked than in other communities. Apparently some Japanese also consider that the anime adaptation project was “too pretentious” and have even mocked the director a lot. Ryuu Nakayamawho considerably decreased his presence on social networks.
On the other hand, the pornographic parody was released on April 28 in Japan with the title of “Dildo Man“, and narrates the journey of the “Dildo Demon” while offering pleasure to countless women, inspired by the girls from the franchise Tatsuki Fujimoto. If you are interested in witnessing this unsurpassed piece of cinematography, you can find it with the identification code CSCT-013.
Anyway, if you’re wondering what the Japanese had to say about this hoax (false information that is deliberately spread to mislead people), so let’s check the comments:
- «I definitely prefer to see this kind of desecration!».
- «I think it’s a very funny fact.».
- «Even so, it doesn’t even reach a third of the sales accumulated by Bocchi the Rock!, definitely everything that has to do with that franchise is garbage».
- «Dildo Man is trash, but it’s better than the anime».
- «Otakus didn’t watch Chainsaw Man, only regular people with no particular taste in anime watched it. But these people don’t buy merchandise or physical records.».
- «I love seeing Chainsaw Man fans completely defeated by a porn parody».
- «Bocchi the Rock! became a social phenomenon with its episodes, while Chainsaw Man went viral for its mistakes».
- «What’s so fun about putting “realism” into an anime adaptation? I watch anime precisely to forget my boring life».
- «I believe that if you sell 1,000 copies of a pornographic film, you get a return on investment. Even pornos with the strangest fetishes easily achieve that amount».
- «Even adding the total copies sold by the first Blu-ray/DVD of Chainsaw Man, it does not reach the supposed sales of the porn film».
- «I looked at the porn movie preview and found it disgusting».
- «On second thought, I think a SPY x FAMILY parody was also more popular than the anime at one point».
