Artists desecrate McDonald’s Japan’s new waifu

A few days ago we reported that a small commercial published by McDonald’s Japan had caused an unusual controversy on social networks because it showed a traditional family enjoying food from the popular fast food chain. The family, consisting of the father, mother and a daughter, are simply shown eating hamburgers and fries.

The commercial became immensely popular, racking up tens of millions of views in a matter of hours. While the Japanese had fun making jokes that the commercial had been produced by McDonald’s with the aim of encouraging him to start a family (just as former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe focused much of his administration on combating Japan’s declining birth rate), Westerners complained about the depiction of a traditional family (that is, without racial or LGBT+ representation).

But leaving aside this kind of nonsense, The commercial also became a trend because the mother of the family (now called “McDonald’s MILF”) has been inspiring a variety of illustrations made by artists on social networks, since her orange hair and the beauty of her design did not go unnoticed by anyone. Below we have compiled some of the most interesting illustrations that have emerged since the commercial was published:

Of course, there were no shortage of illustrations without the intention of profaning anyone, and some became especially popular for continuing the message of promoting the traditional family:
