Recently, a fragment of a variety show became a trend in Bolivia where the cosplay event was promoted “Cosplaying for a Dream“, held on September 3 in the Park of Cultures and Mother Earth, in La Paz. In the video, the program host invited several of the girls participating in the event, who attended with their outfits led by Matilda Rivero, the organizer of the event.
Although both the organizer and the participants were quite excited about their participation and even had a parade presenting their outfits, The video became a trend due to the low quality of most of the outfits shown, the result of a little effort in tailoring and makeup.
On the other hand, if we review the videos we can see that many popular anime characters were represented for this occasion, highlighting franchises such as Boku no Hero Academia, Genshin Impact, Jujutsu Kaisen, Angel Beats!, Another, among others. «Cosplay is not a costume. That’s a misconception. It is personifying a character that you like. The idea is to be identical to the character», explains the organizer while listening to one of the openings of Noragami background.
But of course, surely you are here to read the community comments:
- «Why don’t any of them look the same as the photos they have on their social networks?».
- «If nothing else, they would love their cosplay… You can’t even tell who they are supposed to be, not to mention the classic “kawaii voice” tune.».
- «The red one and the one with glasses are fine, but the others look like gifts wrapped in gift wrap.».
- «Be careful and make them dance because the rain is released in the studio».
- «It is difficult to identify men in this group of people».
- «You will be surprised to know that there is more than one man on screen».
- «The smell in the studio must have been brutal that day».
- «In my time they put performance and love into cosplay».
- «I really liked the first and the last one because of their cosplay, they are very cute. The others, without comments».
- «The Boku no Hero Academia one is funny because it’s small».
- «The outfits are very pretty, but the faces alone don’t help. At least they had to put on makeup».
- «Yes, cosplay culture definitely should never have reached Latin America».
- «I don’t want to be an otaku anymore, my god, what’s happening? It gives me tremendous cringe and I had a lot of respect for things that gave cringe, but I can’t take it anymore».
- «I love cosplay, but TV stations are desperate to find what’s trending to keep getting attention.».
- «Wow, and I thought things couldn’t get any worse around here. It seems like a bad joke».
- «I do manage to recognize several characters, and even accessories of some. But that doesn’t seem to be anything serious. There are good cosplayers in Bolivia who deserve to be on television more than these girls who probably don’t even know who they are dressed as.».
- «It seems that the illusion falls when television shows you without the kilograms of Instagram filters, right? I think that happened recently with a very popular femboy on social media».
- «I’m going to be honest, the girl in red is beautiful. I only endured watching the entire video of her for her.».
