Through a press release, it was officially announced that the manga written and illustrated by shinichi fukuda, Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru (My Dress Up Darling) will temporarily change to a monthly publication (one chapter a month) for the rest of the Heavenly Mandate Arccurrently in publication.
According to the author, the current arc demands that the chapters have more pages, so you can no longer afford to publish two chapters a month. Consequently, the next chapter is scheduled for September 15, instead of the end of this month.
It should be noted that no hint was given as to when it will return to the original bi-monthly publicationand fans are worried that this change in the production of the manga will somehow affect the production of the anime (if the original story does not advance, neither can the adaptation).
The anime adaptation premiered on Winter-2022 (January-March) and had a total of twelve episodes, while the platforms crunchyroll and funimation are in charge of its distribution in the West, also with a dubbing into Latin Spanish. For his part, Fukuda publishes the manga in the magazine young gangan from the publisher Square Enix since January 2018. A sequel project for the anime adaptation is in production.
Synopsis of Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru
Engrossed in the family business of traditional doll making, Wakana Gojou is a reserved high school freshman with no friends. With the painful memory of a childhood friend’s contempt for his interest, Gojou is unable to relate to his classmates and his hobbies, so he ends up isolating himself. Gojou hasn’t yet perfected the crafting of the doll’s faces, but he is exceptionally skilled at making his own clothes. His skill with the sewing machine is soon discovered by his beautiful partner Marin Kitagawa, whose boldness and honesty Gojou admires and envies. Instantly, she shares with Gojou his own hobby: he likes to dress up as erotic video game characters.
However, Kitagawa does not know how to sew her own costumes, which leads her to seek Gojou’s expertise. Being drawn into the lovely girl’s endless adventures related to cosplay, Ella Kitagawa becomes the first friend of hers who fully accepts him. Thus, although they are polar opposites, their relationship slowly blossoms thanks to her ability to help each other in the intricate world of cosplay.
