Hopes grow for Noragami’s return

In recent days, fans of the popular franchise of Noragami they have been excited with a leak that claimed that a third season of the anime is in production. The leak comes from a “new user”, so there is a lot of uncertainty about whether the information is real or not. It should be noted that none of the other recognized leakers have mentioned this rumor, so this lowers the chances that it is real.

The possibility of a third season of Noragami being in production by BONES studios is unlikely. considering that they are producing the seventh season and a new movie of Boku no Hero Academiaas well as an upcoming original anime titled Metallic Rouge. In addition, they are also working on the second season of SK8 The Infinity and an OVA of this same franchise, so if Noragami were really to return, it would be through another study.

Whenever it is about leaks, it is important to “take the information with a grain of salt” and not believe it completely, especially when it comes to users with no history in the field of leaks. Unfortunately, it seems that coming out to say that a popular franchise is back is an “immediate like magnet” on Twitter.

Noragami

Adachitoka began publishing the manga in the magazine Monthly Shōnen Magazine from the publisher kodansha in December 2010. The original manga has gone through various problems, such as a one-year hiatus in serialization and the non-existence of a third season, which ended up negatively impacting sales volume. The work is scheduled to end with its twenty-seventh compiled volume scheduled for later this year.

The work inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by the studios BONESunder the direction of Kotarō Tamura and scripts written by Taku Iwasakipremiered in January 2014. A thirteen-episode second season premiered in October 2015. It is worth mentioning that the adaptation took some creative liberties by changing some events and their sequence.

Synopsis of Noragami

As a relatively unknown minor deity, Yato takes odd jobs for just five yen, with the goal of amassing a fortune large enough to build a shrine in his honor. But besides the darkness, he has another problem, his “Shinki” or comrade-in-arms has decided to give up, tired of being with a homeless god. Without a weapon, Yato takes on more jobs in hopes of finding a new partner soon.

While putting up flyers to find a missing cat, Yato spots said cat and chases after it, just as he is about to be hit by a car, Hiyori Iki, a girl nearby, pushes him out of the way and ends up injuring himself. After waking up, Hiyori discovers that the incident came from her soul leaving her body, so Yato promises to return her to normal, for five yen, of course. But for this he needs a new Shinki, and that’s when he meets a rebellious spirit named Yukine.
