The Anticipation Doesn’t Let Go For Anime Fans Chainsaw Mangiven that Rumors about a movie and a second season have been a part of the conversation for months now.. The anime’s first season left a lasting impression on fans, with debates ranging from the spectacular technical quality of the production to whether MAPPA managed to capture the essence of the original manga. The user known as “@Tsumize”, who considers himself a ‘leaker’, has shared intriguing information through his Twitter account: “The new film and the second season of Chainsaw Man, produced by MAPPA, will be released in 2024“. It is important to note that none of the other well-known leakers have echoed this leak, which reduces the possibility of getting confirmation.
In fact, there is nothing from the leak that is actually confirmed. Since the end of the anime adaptation of Chainsaw Man, the production has not mentioned anything about a continuation. While there were two big breaks at the franchise event and MAPPA STAGE 2023 this year, there was dead silence on future updates. The rumor of a second season and a movie also surfaced as a leak and has not been confirmed at all to date.
Checking MAPPA’s calendars, we can see that they have several projects pending and, unlike Chainsaw Man, officially announced. Among these, the original anime “Bucchigiri?!” is confirmed for January 2024, but the second season of “ is also pending.Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku“; the original anime”Lazarus“; and the moviesyuri!!! on Ice The Movie: Ice Adolescence” and “Zombieland Saga The Movie“if they are actually doing it.
It is currently impossible to predict when we will have more official information about the anime adaptation of “Chainsaw Man“, but this has been taken advantage of by multiple Twitter accounts appearing and they launch an alleged leak of the franchise with the sole objective of getting a few thousand likes.
The anime adaptation aired during the season of Autumn-2022 (October-December) and had a total of twelve episodes. On the other hand, Fujimoto began the publication of the manga Chainsaw Man in the magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump from the publisher Shueisha in December 2018, finishing the first part in December 2020. The second part of the work moved to the digital service Shōnen Jump Pluswhere it has been published since July 2022.
Synopsis for Chainsaw Man
The story takes place in a world where Demons threaten the peace of humans, making them targets to be eliminated. Denji is a depressed young man who has sold several of his organs and works as a lumberjack and demon hunter to pay off his late father’s debt. Denji owns a dog (which is also a demon) named Pochita, who has chainsaws and which he uses to do his work.
This is explained because humans can make contracts with demons. After returning home from a job, Denji is called by a Yakuza to infiltrate a building and kill another demon. However, the plan was a trap to assassinate him as part of a Yakuza contract with the demon, gaining them more power. But Pochita comes to Denji’s aid and bonds with him, becoming a half-man, half-demon and acquiring Pochita’s chainsaws.
