Dragon Ball: They criticize Goku for “groping” his wife

Recently, the popular franchise of dragonball was involved in a controversy generated by an image that circulated on social networks. Twitter user “PridefulSin (@ReignOfPride)” shared what seemed to be an official art of Goku groping the breasts of his wife Milk (Chi-Chi in Japan), completely naked. This image attracted a lot of criticism from users on digital platforms, who pointed to the original author, Akira Toriyamafor allegedly drawing these types of representations of their characters.

Post text: “So, apparently this is official art of Goku groping Chi-Chi’s breasts by Toriyama, crazy.”

However, the truth behind this controversy is different from what many believed. The image in question was actually created by an independent artist and published in a doujinshi magazine for adults, that is, it is not part of the official Dragon Ball canon. The account that first shared this image stated: “I removed the Dragon Ball image because I felt bad for the author of the doujin. I thought it was obvious that the image was not official. It seems that some people got confused because it was published in print format. I don’t want to draw unnecessary attention to the doujin, so I removed it.».

This confirmed that it was an unofficial creation and that the controversy towards Akira Toriyama or the franchise of dragonball it was generally groundless from the start.

This situation highlights the importance of verifying information before issuing criticism or snap judgments. In the age of social media, where news and images can spread quickly, it is essential to exercise caution and check content before sharing or forming an opinion based on it. In this particular case, many users were confused and expressed their outrage towards an entity that had no relation to the original creation.

The lesson learned here is that the responsibility falls on each of us as consumers of information. Verifying the sources, contrasting the data and having a critical and reflective attitude are fundamental aspects to avoid misunderstandings and preserve the integrity of artists and creators. Instead of joining the avalanche of criticism, it is necessary to exercise an informed and respectful look, both towards the artists and towards the works that we enjoy. Only in this way can we foster a constructive dialogue and avoid perpetuating unfounded misunderstandings.
