Disney punishes Oshi no Ko cosplayer

On June 18, a popular influencer from Taiwan, known as “長笛姐姐 (Lily Flute)“, issued an apology on his Instagram account after starring in a controversy at the theme park tokyo disneyland by violating the rules of conduct established in the place.

The controversy arose when Lily Flute posted a video on TikTok in which she was seen playing a flute while wearing a cosplay based on the franchise “Oshi no Ko” inside the Tokyo Disneyland facilities. The media reported that this act violated the rules of the theme park, since its official page specifies that the use of cosplay is prohibited because it can be considered a commercial advertising act.

In her Instagram post, the influencer apologized for the inconvenience caused, explaining that she had her flute and violin with her that day, but had left them out of the park due to the size of the cases. Regarding his outfit, he stated that he thought it would be allowed since it was not a Disney character, and that the entrance staff did not tell him that there was a problem.

Lily Flute also mentioned that all the recording was done handheld and that she was considerate of the people around her, explaining that the video was not for commercial purposes. He concluded his apology by expressing his love for Japan and his sadness at the situation he had caused.

The controversy generated by this incident immediately became a trend on social networks, where users expressed various opinions on the subject. Some showed understanding towards the influencer, considering that she could have made a mistake of ignorance, while others criticized her lack of respect for the rules of the theme park.

So far, it has not been reported if the park will take any additional action in relation to this situation. However, this incident serves as a reminder of the importance of respecting the rules and regulations established in public spaces, even in places as emblematic as Tokyo Disneyland. Or perhaps that some situations in Japan are exaggerated too much?
