On the official site for the anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Negi Haruba, Gotoubun no Hanayome (The Quintessential Quintuplets), a new promotional video for the upcoming special episode of the project has been revealed. The video shows the Nakano Quintuplets in swimsuits and shows a snippet of the theme song titled “Gotoubun no Miraiwhile confirming that The premiere is scheduled for July 14 in theaters in Japan.and will later premiere on television.
The production describes the project as follows:
- “Gotoubun no Hanayome ~” is an adaptation of an arc not shown in the main series. With only six months to go until Futaro and the Nakano Quintuplets’ school life reaches its conclusion, summer vacation is about to begin. Futaro tells the sisters that he will be taking a break from his job as a tutor over the holidays, in order to focus on studying for the upcoming college entrance exams. The sisters are sad that they can’t see him for a while, but suddenly they get a call from him.
Besides, Negi Haruba published the manga in the magazine Weekly Shōnen Magazine from the publisher kodansha between August 2017 and February 2020, with a total of fourteen compiled volumes. The work inspired two anime seasons and a movie that ended the story. The work inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by Tezuka Productions and premiered in Winter-2019 (January-March)followed by a second season in Winter-2021 (January-March) and a film in May 2022, both produced by Bibury Animation Studios.

Synopsis of Gotoubun no Hanayome
Fuutarou Uesugi is an excellent high school student, but he leads a difficult life. His aloof personality and reclusive nature have left him friendless, and his father is in debt, forcing his family to fight for survival. One day, during their lunch break, Uesugi gets into an argument with a transfer student who has claimed “her seat” from her, causing the two to dislike each other. That same day, he is presented with a golden opportunity to pay off his family’s debt: a private tutoring job for the daughter of a wealthy family, at a salary five times the market price. He accepts the proposal, but is horrified to discover that the client, Itsuki Nakano, is the girl he faced earlier!
After unsuccessfully trying to get Itsuki’s approval, Uesugi discovers that his problems don’t end there: Itsuki is actually a quintuplet, so in addition to her, he must also tutor his sisters: Miku, Yotsuba, Nino, and Ichika. “That, despite the very real threat of failing, they want nothing to do with a tutor. However, his family’s livelihood is at stake, so Uesugi presses on, steadfast in his determination to rid the sisters of their hatred for studying and successfully lead them to graduation.
