A press release reported that the manga written and illustrated by dan ichikawa, My New Boss Is Goofy (Atarashii Joushi wa Do Tennen), will have an anime adaptation. The statement revealed production details, with A-1 Pictures in charge of the project, but did not reveal a scheduled premiere date.
dan ichikawa the publication of the manga began through the service cross sleeve from the publisher Akita Shoten in February 2019. The author also wrote Kominami Shoutarou, Ie kara Deru wo Hajimemashita (Shut-In Shoutarou Kominami Takes on the World) between June 2013 and October 2014.

Synopsis for My New Boss Is Goofy
The story of this workplace comedy follows a 26-year-old office worker named Momose. He has recently changed jobs after being harassed by his previous boss. He worries that his new boss will also use workplace bullying to make his life miserable. When he meets his new boss, Shirasaki, Momose tries to hide her anxiety from him, but is shocked to discover that his new boss is such a natural airhead that it removes all of Momose’s anxiety.
