High School DxD gives a hint about his return

On the official site for the anime adaptation of the light novels written by Ichiei Ishibumi and illustrated by Miyama-Zero, high school dxd, an announcement was made that left all fans with high expectations. It turns out that the fourth season of the project, titled as High School DxD Herowill be re-released in a Blu-ray BOX package that will be released on August 30 in Japan.

Why is a record relevant on this occasion? As it turns out, this is the first announcement focused on the fourth season in several years. Many of the projects, including collaborations and videogames, have had designs made by TNK (who did the first three seasons), but this is the first time we’ve seen anything with the designs of passion (the fourth season).

It certainly came as a big surprise to fans, as these sorts of releases can be used to gauge how relevant a franchise that hasn’t been around in a while remains. So, if this next Blu-ray BOX pack achieves good sales figures, will you continue with the adaptation project? That is the question that has the most interested fans.

Evidently this announcement did not go unnoticed in the comment forums, inspiring opinions such as: «I’m waiting for the fifth season. I would love to see that emotion in the original story of losing and resurrecting the Red Dragon Emperor in the anime.»; «What, after so long!»; «I’m honestly believing it»; «I am looking forward to the fifth season in this vein!»; «I just want this franchise to come back soon!».

Ishibumi and Miyama-Zero began publishing the light novels in September 2008 through the imprint Fujimi Fantasy Bunko from the publisher Fujimi Shōbo, and finished them in March 2018 with a total of twenty-five volumes. After the last volume, Ishibumi announced the sequel Shin High School DxDcontinuing the original story and whose first volume was published in July 2018.

The first three seasons of the anime adaptation were produced by the studios TNK and accumulated a total of thirty-six episodes, released in January 2012, July 2013 and April 2015, while the fourth season, titled High School DxD Hero was produced by studios passion and had a total of thirteen episodes, released in April 2018 in Japan.
