Inside the history of the popular manga “Komi-san wa, Komyushou Desu (Komi Can’t Communicate)” There is a huge variety of characters, so many that it is impossible for fans (or perhaps even for the author Tomohito Oda himself) to remember them precisely. However, many of them have been relevant enough to leave an indelible mark on fans’ memories, and Najimi Osana is definitely one of them.
Najimi Osana is the complete antithesis of Shouko Komi, possessing phenomenal communication skills that allow her to approach and befriend anyone in a matter of minutes. However, its most important detail is the fact that its gender is completely unknown to readers. The author has known how to take good care of the work so as not to bias Najimi’s sex towards male or female, so fans have simply concluded that “Najimi is genus Najimi“.
Najimi sports a short, lavender-colored, wavy hairstyle that bristles at the ends. He has a small body and his height is below average for both a man and a woman. Najimi appears wearing shorts and a t-shirt when he meets Komi at elementary school. When he becomes friends with Hitohito he is seen wearing the uniform for high school students and asks that people use the masculine suffix “-kun” when referring to him/her. Once she arrived at the institute Najimi now appeared as a girl wearing the skirt of the female uniform, but a male tie as overall clothing. She sometimes wears male or female clothing outside of school, and often wears androgynous clothing when out with her friends.
But why are we talking about Najimi Osana? Was anything mentioned about this character in a new chapter of “Komi-san wa, Komyushou Desu”? Well, it turns out that the character became trending on Twitter because fans began to claim that “Najimi Osana is a woman.” Where did they draw this conclusion?
Well it all goes back to the Twitter user “@AguiNew“, a content creator who shared an update where he wrote: «HOW DID THE OFFICIAL AUTHOR OF KOMI-SAN CONFIRMED THAT NAJIMI WAS A WOMAN???», and let it go viral until it had more than half a million interactions as of this writing.
While those who are attracted to Najimi Osana felt some kind of relief knowing that she is a woman, others doubted the veracity of this statement. And they were right to doubt, since what the user shared has no basis. In no chapter or in any update on the author’s social networks has the gender of Najimi Osana been mentionedso this was just a good opportunity for the user to earn some likes.
In fact, the user himself confirmed it in one of his responses, since he wrote: «I see many confused in the comments. I am asking, I am not stating anything». However, this clarification was made until several hours later. Unfortunately, many people tend to believe the first thing they read online without doing the slightest research.so you could surely still come across some who claim that Najimi Osana is a woman.
Anyway, the comments really give you something to think about:
- «I love how people believe it without any proof or source.».
- «Oh yes, my heterosexuality is saved, come on!».
- «I don’t believe this bait, hehehe».
- «If this is true, then the character has already lost his grace».
- «It doesn’t matter, because we all prefer Najimi Osana with a cock».
- «That would answer the debate of its genre, but part of the fun was not knowing what the hell it was.».
- «Damn, we won, I always knew I was a woman».
- «Man or woman, I don’t give a shit, I do give a shit».
- «It makes me laugh that several people believe it without thinking for a moment, there is not even a clue or news on the subject, but hey, you better believe randoms on Twitter, right?».
- «I don’t believe it all at once. If what you say is true, where are the sources that confirm your statement, user?».
- «I’m watching the series, I have five episodes left and I say that Najimi is a boy, Tadano says it several times in the series, but in the dubbing his voice is a woman’s».
- «Did anyone not know? The girl literally wears a skirt, bikini and women’s underwear at all times. It’s a bit obvious the truth».
- «But there are like eighty references to him being a femboy, and a good one.».
- «Najimi can’t be a woman. I really hope it’s not true because she can’t, she just has to be a resource, not a person with a defined gender identity».
- «I felt gay just because I thought I was a man, what a great start to the year».
- «It makes me laugh how they believe it without even looking for information or anything.».
