Ayakashi Triangle fans upset over Blu-ray ‘scam’

Passionate fans of the franchise Ayakashi Triangle have expressed their deep annoyance and disappointment at the production decisions related to the Blu-ray/DVD releases of the anime adaptation. The reason for this disappointment lies in the production’s seemingly unfulfilled promises regarding the removal of censorship on these physical versions.

The original Ayakashi Triangle manga is characterized by its erotic content, which had to be censored for broadcast on television. This censorship was implemented through large stickers that covered parts of the body of the female characters in the most suggestive scenes. However, fans were excited when the production assured that the Blu-ray/DVD releases would offer the “full experience” without any censorship.

With great anticipation, the release date for the first Blu-ray/DVD package finally arrived, and fans rushed to check out the contents. However, his enthusiasm quickly turned to disappointment. Although the stickers had been removed as promised, the scenes were still censored, this time with the technique of darkening the body areas in the anime’s erotic sequences. This decision triggered a wave of criticism from fans, who They described the action of the production company and the CONNECT studios as a scamsince they were not delivering the product they had promised.

Some fans pointed out that this situation is a reflection of the constant decline of the anime Blu-ray/DVD market, which has lost ground to streaming platforms. These physical releases have become collector’s items for the most devoted fans of the franchises. The inclusion of censored ecchi scenes even in a physical version, which theoretically has no restrictions on television transmission, shows the lack of interest of the production company and the studios in faithfully adapting the content of the original manga.

This situation has led fans to question why a manga with erotic content was adapted if it was going to be censored in all media. The disappointment among the Ayakashi Triangle community is palpable, and many hope their voices are heard and this situation is corrected in future releases.

  • «I can’t believe they ruined the reputation of a great ecchi work with this».
  • «Well, it’s official now, this represents the end of the Blu-ray/DVD era. Physical releases aren’t what they once were, so we can only pray that that market finally dies down and studios really see reality. Let’s avoid any emotional damage by stopping waiting for Blu-ray releases in the future».
  • «When are companies going to realize that censorship and deleted scenes from manga are the main attraction for people to buy Blu-rays? I think even a grade schooler can do that market analysis, why do the Japanese seem to be so stupid when it comes to these decisions?».
  • «That is, if the censorship was bad in the television version, in the Blu-ray version it is even worse. It can’t be that this anime has suffered one of the worst censorship in recent years».
  • «I guess I won’t see Ayakashi Triangle, definitely the disappointment of the year, coupled with its production problems that made it delayed».
  • «How do you manage to make the Blu-ray version look worse than the version broadcast on television?».
  • «Is this the end of uncensored Blu-ray? As we are going, it seems that this is how it will be».

However, something quite curious is that The Blu-ray is uncensored in certain parts, as demonstrated by a popular Twitter user who acquires the most relevant physical releases of each season. As he explains: «Actually all the Shirogane cat stickers were removed. However, for some reason there are some parts where the censorship is worse than the TV version. I don’t understand it at all». As proof, he left the following comparison:
