A few months ago it was published in the Weekly Shonen Jump the manga chapter written and illustrated by Gege Akutami“Jujutsu Kaisen“, where Satoru Gojo, the popular character of the franchise, died. Although fans believe that it is a “supposed death,” for many it is already evident that Gojo finally kicked the bucket. This episode came out at the same time as the second season episode where Satoru Gojo was sealed in the Confining Prison, so it was a double impact for the community.
The impact was such that it even reached Latin American countries, where a rather curious event occurred. The Santiago de Chile Metro became the scene of a peculiar event in mid-September 2023. At the “Manuel Montt” and “Universidad de Chile” stations, where Crunchyroll advertising posters had been placed for “Jujutsu Kaisen,” starring Satoru Gojo, fans were present and left flowers and messages in a gesture to remember him.
But Satoru Gojo is still split in half and there are no signs that Gege Akutami intends to bring him back, so why are we talking about it again? Well, it turns out that ETC, a subscription television channel in Chileconsidered “the first Chilean youth channel” and “the first to broadcast anime in its programming,” announced a collaboration with the Santiago Metro to avoid the advertising poster in question. Those who wish to participate in this contest will obviously have to reside in Chile, follow the social media accounts of “ETC Television” and “Santiago Metro“, tag a friend and leave a comment dedicated to Satoru Gojo.
We can see in the video that the advertising poster, in fact, has many fewer messages than those we showed in the “best moment”, that is, in the previous photographs. This is probably because the subway station staff constantly cleaned the sign, so the current state of the sign was perhaps the last that could be recovered. However, the curious contest did not go unnoticed by Internet users:
