This year the presidential elections are taking place in Argentina, having first passed the primary, open, simultaneous and mandatory elections (PASO). These first elections are to determine the candidacies for national positions in the elections that will take place on October 22 in Argentina.
From this first electoral process, an image emerged on social networks that immediately became a trend on social networks, and it turns out that the character Ikuyo Kita of the franchise Bocchi the Rock! appeared as a candidate. It certainly came as a big surprise to many netizens outside of Argentina who were unaware that the country was about to open presidential elections.
Obviously this image was not going to go unnoticed on social networks, where it attracted comments such as the following:

- «I’m from Argentina and I never heard about this, is there any context I should know?».
- «This is extremely surreal, like that episode of Black Mirror».
- «How I would like to be from Argentina to have been able to vote for Ikuyo Kita».
- «When did all this happen? I don’t understand anything».
- «I would expect it from Japan, but Argentina?».
- «I think my eyes are failing, because I can’t believe what I’m looking at».
- «I knew that the otakus were going to reveal themselves at some point in Argentina».
Despite what the comments show, it is important to note that this image is an edition. We’re sorry to break it to you, but Ikuyo Kita She was not a candidate for the presidential elections in Argentina, and it was absurd to think that she could become one. As Article 89 of the National Constitution explains: «To be elected president or vice president of the Nation, it is required to have been born in Argentine territory, or to be the son of a native citizen, having been born in a foreign country, and the other qualities required to be elected senator.».
Even if it had been possible to register Ikuyo Kita on the pre-candidate ballots, she would not have passed the filters because she is not originally from Argentina. So now you know, don’t believe everything you find on social media!
